CCI

Also known as: Cuenta Interbancaria, Código de Cuenta Interbancario

Definition

CCI (Código de Cuenta Interbancario) is the 20-digit number that identifies a bank account in Peru. Peru's equivalent to CLABE in Mexico.

LATAM context

Every Peruvian bank account has a unique CCI, distinct from the regular account number. The CCI is used for transfers between banks through the Cámara de Compensación Electrónica (CCE), operated by ASBANC.

Concrete example

CCI 00220307001234567890. The first 3 digits identify the bank (002=BCP, 011=BBVA, 003=Interbank), followed by the branch and the account number.

How it shows up on your bank statement

On Peruvian statements the CCI appears in the header, usually below the account number. Interbank transfers show the recipient's CCI; transfers within the same bank show only the account number, with no CCI at all.

How does finO$ handle this?

finO$ extracts both the CCI and the regular account number from every Peruvian statement. Useful for validating counterparties and reconciling payments.

Frequently asked questions about CCI

When do I need the CCI, and when does the account number suffice?

The CCI is needed for transfers between different banks. To move money between accounts at the same bank, the account number is enough. That's why on a single statement you'll see some transactions with a CCI and others without.

Does the CCI change if I switch currencies?

Yes. Each account has its own CCI, so your soles account and your dollar account carry different codes even if they're at the same bank under your name.
